Mindfulness for Parents and Teens
This fun and engaging experiential workshop is an opportunity for teens and parents to meet in the middle—to arrive together in the present moment with acceptance, openness, and compassion. No matter how challenging your relationship with your teen or parent is, mindfulness meets us where we are and offers us tools for emotional regulation and managing life’s difficulties. Topics will include focused-attention practices, stress-reduction and breath awareness, tools for managing anxiety, engaged movement and communication activities, and mindful games. These are troubled times for teens, with rates of depression, suicide, and addiction skyrocketing, creating higher and higher levels of anxiety for parents. The best way to navigate these challenging relationships is to first tend to the regulation of your own nervous system and to practice self-care. When you are calm, resourced, non-judgmental, and grounded in the present moment, others around you can be impacted in subtle and profound ways. By practicing this kind and compassionate awareness and skillfully tending to your own experience, you can be the change you wish to see in the world. 2 hours. Cost $25.
