"We are the middle children of History,
coming of age at the crossroads of civilization, a generation rising between an old world dying and a new world being born. We are the "make-it or break-it" generation, the "all-or-nothing" generation, the crucible through which civilization must pass or crash."

Cindy Garner, MFA, RP, MMT is the Founder and Executive Director of the Rocky Mountain Mindfulness Center, and the author of a memoir, Out of Grace. She facilitates Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) classes and professional development workshops for educators. In 2019, she created the Mindful Teachers Teaching Mindfully course with teachers and administrators from the St. Vrain Valley School District in Longmont, CO. Cindy also developed a pilot program for 9th grade students and teachers at Skyline High School called SafeWithin, a trauma-sensitive, whole-classroom, mental-fitness education program.

Cindy is trained to facilitate mindfulness education for adults and adolescents through The Centre for Mindfulness Studies, UCSD Medical School, Mindful Schools, Inward Bound Mindfulness Education (iBme), and as a graduate of the 2-year Hakomi, Mindfulness-based Somatic Psychotherapy training. Cindy will also participate in the year-long School-wide Implementation program through Mindful Schools beginning July 2020.

"Cindy's background as a teacher and her understanding of the pressure and stress that teachers go through was evident and provided validity to her presentation. The staff participated, they were engaged and many are still talking about the presentation." - Gregory Stephens, Assistant Principal at Skyline High School
