This 8-week group class combines online and in-person retreat, and offers practical skills help overcome depression, anxiety, and recurrent low-mood or maladaptive coping states (such as burnout, media or substance addiction, chronic panic attacks and fatigue).

  • Practice skillfully responding to thoughts and feelings.
  • Formal training in mindfulness meditation and managing reactivity.
  • Identify automatic thought spirals and triggers for depressive relapse.
  • Develop an early-warning system and relapse prevention plan.
  • Cultivate resilience, present-moment awareness, and self-compassion.

The course will meet weekly over the course of 8 weeks in
2-hour online sessions via zoom, with two in-person outdoor sessions on July 16 and August 13 in the Longmont, CO. area. These sessions will involve sitting, standing, lying down, and movement meditation practices as well as reflection and inquiry into our automatic patterns of thinking/reacting, habitual/maladaptive coping, anxiety triggers and traumatic stimuli, and our relationship to present-moment experience.

It is recommended to purchase a meditation cushion or bench, and a yoga mat if you do not already have one, however, they are not necessary for course participation.

MBCT has been tested and proven effective in clinical trials throughout the world. Additionally, there are benefits to meeting in a virtual space, primarily offering you the opportunity to practice responding skillfully to stress and low-mood states within the home environment and in daily life.

Handouts and audio recordings of guided meditations are provided on the website.

***Participants who are currently in a depressive episode should consult with their health care team and work to stabilize prior to engaging in this course.***

Course fee includes participation in the day-long silent retreat held during the final weeks of the program. This modality of mindfulness-based relapse prevention may also be helpful for treating workplace burnout and compassion fatigue, generalized anxiety disorders, and addictions.

Program Cost: $600. Your full program fee supports scholarships for participants in need, as well as the mindfulness in education movement.

A minimum $150 deposit is required at time of registration.

We are committed to inclusivity and accessible programming, and offer a sliding scale based on ability to pay.
